Carole Lucille Hill, 85, of Escalon, passed away on Tuesday, June 17.

She was born in Chicago IL, to the late Leo and Irene Meyers on Aug. 14, 1928.

She married her loving husband and best friend of 67 years Kenneth Lloyd Hill, Sr. on Aug. 31, 1946. Their son, Kenneth L. Hill Jr. was born June 27, 1948.

Carole inspired many with her caring, thoughtfulness and generosity to family and friends. She was actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she delighted in planning family trips and events. She loved gardening and yellow roses. She was the “best 10 minute cook in town” (she had the recipe book to prove it) and met with two groups of ladies for lunch through the years and always looked forward to her special time with them.

The life she and her husband Ken shared was a wonderful, exciting adventure. Ken flew their Cessna 210 on hundreds of trips from Canada, the US and Mexico. They enjoyed scuba diving, deep sea fishing, skiing, sailing, hunting, camping and golf. She caught a 56 lb. salmon in Alaska, hunted alligators in Jamaica, wild boar in Hawaii and moose in Canada. They traveled extensively in Europe, Asia and South America.

She was a dedicated and professional commercial real estate broker for 35 years with offices in Modesto and Escalon. She founded the Modesto Apartment Association to assist landlord/tenants that was active for 20 years. Together with her husband Ken they founded Valley Air Conditioning. They also mined mercury in Nevada for a few years.

Carole was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include her husband Kenneth L. Hill, Sr. of Escalon; son Kenneth L. Hill, Jr. and wife Carole S. Hill of Modesto; grandsons, Jerad Hill and wife Mallory Hill of Modesto and their sons Liam and Cohen and daughter Emerson of Modesto, Brian Hill of Escalon, and Nolan Hill and his wife Janel Hill of Oakdale.

Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery.
