Don’t forget to put the Community Club’s picnic on your calendar. You do not have to be a member to attend. It is July 3 at the clubhouse to avoid the heat at 6 p.m. The club will provide the hot dogs and drinks. A-M brings sides or salads and N-Z desserts or nibbles.

Michael and Maureen McKibban have returned from a three-week vacation. First, they took a seven-day cruise from New York City down to Nassau in the Bahamas and back up to New York. Maureen liked just watching the ocean from the deck. Then they toured Rhode Island where all the spring flowers were in full bloom. The highlight of Rhode Island was the International Tennis Hall of Fame. It was in a mansion built in the 1620s as a retreat for the wealthy to escape New York City in the summer. It cost $11 million to build then! Both Michael and Maureen are tennis followers and enjoyed seeing the old tennis artifacts. Next they went to Maureen’s niece’s wedding in New York City. It was a circus theme and very enjoyable. They stayed with daughter Kate, son-in-law Grahme and granddaughter, Emma in Greenwich, Connecticut for five days. Maureen loves the library in Greenwich, three stories of everything! They had a great trip!

Manuel Arias was the recipient of the “Birthday Song” last Wednesday at the 50’s Roadhouse.

Diane Boyer and her daughter-in-law Melinda and grandson Matt spent some time in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. While there they hiked to the top of Fish Creek Falls, toured the botanical gardens, museums and played miniature golf. They went to Rocky Mountain National Park and climbed to see the snow and tundra. In Steamboat Springs there are many springs of different composition and they saw a lot of them. Matt went on horseback and Diane and Melinda took a wagon at Saddleback Ranch to tour around. Before they left, there was a Mustang Car Roundup so they watched the races. It was a fun vacation!
