Valley Home fourth grader Maddie Jones took her History assignment “Create a California Mission” to the family kitchen! Maddie used her cooking skills and her imagination to bake and decorate a very tasty mission. Maddie’s teacher Robin Cole was very impressed and her classmates were thrilled to be able to munch on Maddie’s delicious California mission. Great job Maddie!

Oakdale High School was the recipient of the prestigious Stanislaus County Academic Decathlon Championship trophy and Super Quiz event. Valley Home is very proud of Miss Emma Boggs whose hard work and dedication brought great rewards in many areas including Economics and Art. Emma’s proud parents are Debra and Keith Boggs of Valley Home. Congratulations on a terrific job Emma!

Valley Home School Students of the Month for January were Colter Price, Skye Braaton, Natalie Duvall, Owen Arrighi, Kaylee Cogburn, Kaylee Evangelho, Sierra Haynes, Elaina Andersen, and Kerry Duvall. Congratulations to all of you!

There is one last chance to become a 4-H leader this year. Due to many requests for one more leader training date, the 4-H office has announced they will provide one last leader orientation on February 26th, 2014 at Turlock Christian School. The training will start at 7:00 p.m. Reservations should be called in to JoAnn Ratto at the County 4-H office at 209-525-6801.

Much excitement in Valley Home as news has reached us that our Valley Home Parent Teacher Club is planning a fun, fabulous fundraiser. Dinner plans are under way and more details will follow.

This coming summer is looking to be a memorable one for Valley Home resident Jenna Heaton. Jenna and best friend Taylor Denman will be attending the “last George Strait concert.” The two girls met in kindergarten at Valley Home School and have remained best friends over the years. Both are now in college and both are super excited to be able to be at Cowboy Stadium for the “Cowboy Rides Away” concert! What fun these two will have!

Until next time….Happy trails to all!
