Welcome 2014! It is going to be a wonderful year! We will eat more veggies, walk more, smile more and worry less. Let’s all work together to make this year a great one!

As we begin this year, our thoughts turn to the woman whose efforts made this column a reality for over 38 years! Laura, your Valley Home community thanks you and we all wish you a relaxing and happy retirement.

This week we share the exciting story of Valley Home first grader Cody Soares. Cody is a motivated and determined young man whose hard work has afforded him many wins in the youth wrestling world. Cody’s family is among his biggest supporters. Dad Aaron, mom Vicki, sister Maci and big brothers Jordan and Nathan love to watch Cody wrestle. Great job Cody! Valley Home is very proud of you!

We are pleased to report that our good friend John Quillen is feeling great after a brief illness. John and his wife Barb are strong supporters of much of the happenings in Valley Home.

January is going to be a busy month in Valley Home…

Our Valley Home 4-H will meet during the first week of January to plan their annual box social which will be held in early February.

On January 9th the Valley Home Parent Teacher Club will meet to plan and discuss upcoming events. This meeting will be held at D’Boni’s Pizza in Escalon at 6:45 p.m. The PTC will provide pizza and soda but babysitting will not be provided at this meeting.

Meeting on January 14th will be the Valley Home School Board. The meeting will be held in the school library and will welcome new members Julie Haynes and Chris Hempleman. All are welcome!

Happy New Year to all!
