Charles ‘Bud’ Todd, 84, died peacefully on Friday, Nov. 15, at his Oakdale home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born in Inglewood to Fred and Ruby Todd. In his early years he showed a passion for life, he was a true rebel rouser.

He fell deeply in love with his wife, Vera, on their first date. He and his wife moved their family to Oakdale in 1963. Bud was a family man that raised his children to be respectful and to have great morals.

Mr. Todd retired from Stanislaus County as a road supervisor.

He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren compete in sports. He was a devoted Raiders fan and never missed a game. Anyone who knew him knew that he was protector of all and a great patriot.

He is survived by his sons, Charles (Judy) Todd Jr., Jack Todd, Bill (Rosalie) Todd, Fred (Susie) Todd; daughters, Susan (Gary) Rundle, Chris (John) Word, and Jill (Jon) Heine; 20 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Vera Todd; parents, Fred and Ruby Todd; and sister, Billie Eldridge.

Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 19 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
