Gordon Corrigan

Gordon Corrigan, 79, died Wednesday, Nov. 25 at Memorial Hospital, Modesto.

He was born in Oakdale to Mathew and Grace Corrigan.

Mr. Corrigan was a Naval veteran.

He served as a production supervisor for Hunt Wesson for 30 years. He also served as a reserve officer for the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.

He had a great appreciation for the outdoors, gardening and his western lifestyle, which included working with this Border Collies, shadowed only by the love for his family.

His wit, kindness and love will be missed by his family.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Bobbe (Workman) Corrigan of Oakdale; children, Karen (Greg) Van Sandt of Ripon, Kurt (Denise) Corrigan of Jamestown, Marilyn (Paul) Wagoner of Willmar, MN, Laurette (Doug) Mathies of Modesto, Patrick (Jill) Corrigan of Carmel Valley, Brian (Esmeralda) Corrigan of Hanford; stepchildren, David (Alice) Crofts, Robert (Linda) Crofts, all of Helena, MT, Cheryl (John) Viera, Richard (Diana) Crofts, all of Oakdale; brother, Albert Corrigan; sister, Ruth Gatzman of Livermore; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul, George, and Mathew; sisters, Rita and Jean; and brother-in-law, Stan Gatzman.

A rosary was held on Dec. 1 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Oakdale. A mass will be held, also at the church, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Remembrances may be made to “Helping Hands” at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Oakdale, or to the charity of your choice.
