Knights Ferry News for December 2, 2009

POSTED December 1, 2009 1:27 p.m.

The Feast the Knights Ferry School Eighth Graders put on for the community was well attended and the food was terrific. Oskar Nilsson liked cutting the turkey, Kit Foster liked playing while he worked, Peyton Paul liked meeting the people, and Leah Armario liked preparing the food and helping serve the people. Their teacher, Shelli Johnson, thanked her aide, Cheryl Hodge, for helping put it all together and thanks Randy Noe for showing the boys how to carve a turkey. Don and Gail Diltz enjoyed the food and visiting with friends. River McCarthy said the rolls and butter were the best. As usual, this was a great community service by the Eighth Grade!

Ben and Linda Cassinetto have been busy. On November 20th Ben celebrated his birthday with friends at the Jamestown Hotel and Restaurant.

The group came back to Rick and Glenda’s Saloon and enjoyed listening to Will Taylor’s “Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit” play. Then the next day, the Cassinetto’s celebrated an early Thanksgiving with Linda’s side of the family in their “Barn.” Attending were Linda’s daughters Beth and Monica, with husband Lou, from Sierra Vista, Arizona. Linda’s son, Stephen came from Glasgow, Scotland, for the party. Linda’s brother Jack Gardella, and wife Tricia, and their six grandchildren (and parents) also were there. They had a great dinner and went through the scrapbooks of Linda’s deceased parents, with many stories shared.

Carol Davis has returned from a Thanksgiving cruise to Mazatlan, Mexico with her son, Bruce, daughter-in-law Kin and grandchildren Autumn, Connor, Trent and Shawn. In Mazatlan Carol enjoyed a great shrimp lunch, time on the beach and a candy factory that her granddaughter remembered from a previous trip. The cruise ship had good food and good entertainment. Connor won at Bingo one night. The ship also stopped at Cabo San Lucas. It was a wonderful time.
